Research Interests: Woody Plants Taxonomy; Leaf Architecture; Floristics; Evolution of Vegetation

  1. To identify plants based on leaves by integrating multiple information database and personal training, in order to solve the problems of reality (identification of extant trees and fossils) and theory (origin and differentiation of leaf architecture and its relationship with geological events and environment);
  2. In order to understand the origin and evolution of modern vegetation and biodiversity in tropical Asia (or even the world), the Cenozoic paleobotany research work was carried out in the tropical areas of East Asia and Southeast Asia (southwestern China karst, Indochina Peninsula, Malay Islands), using the methods of paleobotany, palaeovegetation and paleoenvironment.
